Terrible Fortune in Poker

For a match where most enthusiasts rarely consider good luck, there are tonnes of folklore in poker. When you mention that someone was fortunate in that poker tournament they captured, be careful of how you say it. For example, if you say that you were unlucky, your fortune may never change.

Ok, that might appear to be a bit ubsurd, but poker is a game loaded with folklores. Did you know that if you’re betting a game with 2 different decks and you are asked to select the deck, you should always select the deck that is the furthest away from you? Or, how about If you have a run of poor cards, you must hang out on a hankerchief to destroy your terrible luck? It’s actually thought of as good fortune to blow through a pack of cards when they are being mixed up.

A few other fascinating poker superstitions are:

  • You can change the run of cards by passing around your chair three times.
  • The luckiest spot at the poker table faces the entry.
  • The unluckiest seat has its back to a fireplace.
  • When switching seats, you need to constantly do so following the clock.
  • The most detrimental poker card is the 4 of clubs.
  • It’s very unlucky to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
  • Mon is a bad day for gambling on cards.
  • The thirteenth is also a horrible day, regardless of what day of the week it is.
