Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Based on the old Chinese domino game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the west in an excellent game for starting gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player vs. the house, not like most other poker games that players compete against other players. By betting against the dealer, new players do not need to worry about other, more skillful players taking their money.
An additional Pai Gow edge is the fairly leisurely game pace, rookies should be able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make frenzied selections.
It is also much simpler to participate in for an extended time with only a small bit of money after all, to lose, both of your hands has to be lower than both of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the dealer is given seven cards face down.
A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand need to be made from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the houses.
