Focus Attention on Annie Duke

Annie Duke might not have captured her 1st WSOP Bracelet until ‘04 but she remains one of the most powerful poker players around the cash matches at The Bellagio in vegas. Annie’s longawaited WSOP bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha hi-low.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run crazy following a big win at the tournament, Annie goes back home and becomes "mom" to her four children. Annie grew up in New Hampshire into a family of card players. If you do not believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to wager on the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has succeeded at her share of challenging tables, including eliminating Howard a few times along the way. They’re both players that have the capability to win the huge money and do it with a grin.

Annie Duke is a tough competitor at any table because she is a natural poker player, but it is a little more than simply being great at the game. Mrs. Duke is extremely smart and graduated from Columbia U where she double majored in English and Psychology.

When you take a seat across from her at the poker table you will see Annie is there to play the game and she starts "summing" you up as soon as you approach the table. If you can’t play like a winner, then do not waste your time.

Winning over $3 million in tournament play, Annie became a adviser to both the UltimateBet website and actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to enhance his techniques and become a power at the tables.

You will likely catch a glimpse of her at the Bellagio, you will notice Annie on the tv and you might even play against her in an on-line poker match, but do not anticipate an easy win. Unless you are a champion-in-the-making, you won’t beat her. Although, it’d be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
