Poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years numerous types on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the casino rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or different kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the dealer announcing "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course all of the other gamblers receive five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer’s first card, you need to either make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s value is akin to your original ante, which means that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes directly to the house. After the bet is the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, including an amount in accordance with the initial wager. If the house does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The bank pony’s up money even with your original bet and fixed expectations on your call bet. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
