Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the last game in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest gamblers anywhere in the world. While gambling on online poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I know Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to play at the table with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total dollar value. I think tv can skew our view of the real world at times. The best poker players in the world might be players you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be seen betting on internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually participates in big stakes omaha hold’em and hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in cash rounds?
