Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve last table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest bettors in the world. While participating in net poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Gus frequently buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I know Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to play at the game with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the min takes most of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the greatest poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amount. I think tv can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest players anywhere in the world may be players you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be seen wagering on online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes omaha hold’em and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in cash games?
