Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandfather taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the negative feedback from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil started playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes blunders in each game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a normal basis.
